On 8 July the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation published the list of 15 Russia’s leading universities which are entitled to federal subsidy to enhance the international competitiveness.

Tomsk region won the contest for co-financing from the federal budget for establishing the industrial park
Today, on 25 June, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia supported application of the Tomsk Region Administration for granting a subsidy amounting to188,3 million roubles in 2013 to organize the industrial park in the regional center. In the next three years it is planned to invest up to1,2 billion roubles into this project from the regional and federal budgets.

UNDP Russia published a report on human development in the Russian Federation – 2013. The experts estimated that the Tomsk region occupies the 9th position among the Russian regions on the human development index.
