Tomsk polytechnic university has received the status of federal innovation ground (FIN) in the field of personnel training for pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. Such status was obtained due to the victory of the joint project of Natural resources institute and TPU and R-Pharm CJSC in the ministry contest. TPU remains the innovation ground through to 2017.

Construction of two industrial park sites started in Tomsk
The Tomsk authorities have decided to create two production sites on the outskirts of the city: - one for engineering enterprises (Northern site), the other for food industry companies (site Berezovaya). CJSC GazServis became the General Contractor for the project until 2015 following the results of an open auction.
