Vladimir Mazur, Governor of the Tomsk region, visits “Ilmenite”

On January 27, at a visiting meeting at the Stock Company Tugansk Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise “Ilmenite”, Vladimir Mazur, Governor of the Tomsk Region, discussed the enterprise’s production plans and investment program and launched an industrial cluster project with the enterprise as its base.

“Ilmenite” started its first line of products at the end of 2022. The enterprise's raw material base is the Tugansk ilmenite-zirconium deposit in the Tomsk region. The enterprise provides a full process cycle from mining ore sands to enriching them and manufacturing end products – concentrates used in metallurgy, glass industry, water treatment and a number of other industries.

Konstantin Sheptalin, General Director of “Ilmenite”, informed the Governor that the second line of products would boost the production. Today the rated capacity of the enterprise is 575 thousand tons of ore sands per year, and the second line is planned to produce 2.3 million tons. The new process facilities are expected to be designed in 2024.

Vladimir Mazur, the Governor of the Tomsk Region, set the task to create an industrial cluster with the enterprise as its base. The cluster is going to set up a number of industries, including building sector. The necessary infrastructure, vacant land plots and utility systems are all available for this purpose.

Vladislav Demidov, Deputy Head of the department of metallurgy and materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, who took part in the meeting, noted that the Ministry supports the project of the “Ilmenite” development.
