New Transforming Substation Built In Special Economic Zone Tomsk

20.04.2021

Tomsk SEZ has finished construction of a 110 kilovolt substation and is in the process of commissioning it.  The substation is expected to be fully operational before the end of May.  Once it is up and running, the electric capacity, put out by SEZ Tomsk, will increase from 3.4 to 53.4 Megawatts.

The 126 mWt new substation will be the main producer of electric power on the Southern site of the SEZ, which will provide residents with the necessary output and electric power, as well as give the impulse to develop adjacent areas.

The introduced substation is a new generation substation, the only one of its kind in Tomsk and the region.  It is a closed type substation, that is, all of its equipment, including a 110 kW switchgear (KRU-11kW), is placed inside a single purposely build structure.  This solution allowed for placing the energy complex of such scale and power in a small area, as well as minimize noise pollution and the electromagnetic impact on the environment.

The building is equipped with the newest fire suppression systems, ventilation, CCTV monitoring and remote controls.
