Tomsk region advances cooperation with China in science and technologies

Representatives of Tomsk Region Administration held a meeting with Chinese companies interested in business relations with Special Economic Zone "Tomsk". They also discussedthe potential of creating a Contact Center of Tomsk region in Changzhou in the zone of development of advanced machinery and high technologies.

"In the nearest time we hope to sign Memorandum on Intentions that will fix the agreements achieved. State support of business initiatives is a prerequisite for successful work in China, therefore, the objective of the contact center will be both the work with Tomsk and Chinese companies, and interaction with Chinese authorities on different issues", said Andrey Makaseev.

At the meeting of Tomsk and Chinese businessmen Shamil' Ahmedov, Deputy Director on Innovations and Strategic Development of NII of Cardiology presented a project of organizing joint research and technology tests in the field of biomedicine. The project was supported by government of Jiangsu province; Chinese partners will identify the scientific and industrial partners in the nearest time. Cooperation of Tomsk region in the field of educational technologies is planned to be established with Yangzhou Research Institute of Innovations.

- We agreed on the visit of a business delegation of Jiangsu province to Tomsk region next year. According to Maxim Volkov, Deputy Director of Department of International and Regional Relations, much will depend on the success of further efforts.
