Tourist Web portal of Tomsk oblast was launched

Today, on September 4, at the Media Centre RIA News a presentation of the first tourist Web portal of Tomsk oblast took place.
The press conference was attended by the head of the Department of Culture and Tourism at the Tomsk oblast administration, Pavel Volk, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism, Yulia Mikhaleva, Leading Methodist of the Tourist Information Division of the Department, Kirill Fedorov.
Tourist Web portal of Tomsk oblast brought together information on tourist infrastructure, routes, investment projects of the Tomsk oblast, rich multimedia content, including the 3D excursions. The portal not only contains information about tourist attractions of Tomsk oblast but provides hotel addresses and allows working and saving your travel routes.
The regional program “development of domestic and incoming tourism” for the period till 2017 was launched in 2013 in the Tomsk oblast. It is expected that developed tourism will help to mobilize additional funds from federal and private sources in support of the economy of Tomsk oblast. It is planned that more than 762 thousands of tourists will visit the Tomsk oblast only in 2013.
“We are launching tourist web portal of our region that not only will tell you about findings and legends of our city, represent its historical and cultural aspects, but present all that we have to the people of our region, throughout the country and around the world. The website has been launched today”. – Yulia Mikhaleva reported.
She noted that the website is not completely filled with information. Anyone can fill the website with travel stories, object descriptions, photos and videos along with the developers. Besides the tourists can ask questions and reply on the portal, perhaps, the most active users will be offered to start a blog.
Whereas, the Leading Methodist of the Tourist Information Division of the Department, Kirill Fedorov said that the portal includes not only tourist attractions of the region, but provides hotel addresses. It also enables to work out and save your travel routes, to see the city using web-cameras, to purchase bus, plane or train tickets, to learn the weather at the destination.
It is expected that English versions of the website will be available by January 2014, later it will be translated into French, German and Chinese.
