Tomsk Innovative Developments Conquer Mexico

The delegation of Tomsk small and medium-size enterprises returns from a business trip to Mexico with offers of cooperation and expansion of contacts.

The mission’s key meetings were presentations of Tomsk Region and Tomsk enterprises in the Club of Manufacturers of Mexico COMСE, which includes more than 1600 companies, National Trade Chamber CONACO, industrial park in Toluka, Mexican Association of Information Technologies AMITI, Media

Conglomerate TELEVISA, the largest in the world among Spanish-speaking countries.

The visit of the Tomsk delegation aroused lively interest of Mexican businessmen. For example, at the presentation of Tomsk businesses in the Club of Manufacturers in Mexico COMCE, instead of 25 invited guests, 50 Mexican businessmen came, many of whom sent offers and requests for cooperation to the Tomsk delegation right after the meeting.

“The mission of Tomsk is a very serious step in development of bilateral Russian and Mexican relations. This visit was a proof for the Mexican side of the interest of Russian businesses in cooperation. I want to underline the high level of competence of the delegation members, the companies’ level and thoroughness of commercial offers. According to its members, it’s one of the strongest Russian delegations in Mexico in the post-Soviet time”, said Russian Ambassador of Mexico Edward Malayan.

Tomsk businessmen also met the Minister of Economy of the State of Mexico, the most densely populated state of Mexico, Adrian Fuentes, general Director of COMCE Lorenzo Ysasi, Chairman of the Business Committee Mexico-Russia Jose Carral Escalante, Director of National Trade Chamber of Mexico Mauricio Avendano, one of the leaders of the association ProMexico Alexandra Sanchez, General Director of TV Company TELEVISA Elias Rodriguez.

The greatest interest was demonstrated by the Mexican side towards products of companies operating in the field of IT and telecommunications: “Elcom+”, “Elecard”, “Incom”. A return visit of Mexican businessmen to Tomsk is planned for the nearest time.

The trip was arranged by Tomsk Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the regional department of development of entrepreneurship and real sector of economy, the embassy of Russia in Mexico. The business mission became one of the final events of the programme of development of international cooperation of small and medium-size businesses of Tomsk Region in 2013.
