Russian-German Foreign Trade Chamber will help promote products by Tomsk companies in the German market, Ambassador of Germany to Russia Ulrich Brandenburg will visit Tomsk in 2013, Tomsk ensembles will take part in the forthcoming Year of Russia in Germany – such are the results of the meeting of the Tomsk Region Governor Sergey Zhvachkin with German Ambassador to Russia Ulrich Brandenburg and German businesspeople which took place in the Ambassador's residence in Moscow on October 9.
Tomsk Region Governor had a half-hour face-to-face meeting with the German Ambassador. "We spoke the same language – literally and figuratively," says Sergey Zhvachkin. "Tomsk Region has long-standing cooperation ties with Germany but we believe they should be intensely activated in the economic domain. Mr. Brandenburg agreed with me."
Sergey Zhvachkin repeated that thought at the meeting with German businesspeople representing medical, agricultural, banking and IT companies of Germany where presentations of German projects were shown. "We are ready to create a favorable investment climate for our German partners and we expect the same in return. Our cooperation should be a two-way street," Sergey Zhvachkin emphasized.
"At the meeting with Tomsk biggest companies members of the Tomsk Cross-Industry Production Association I promised to facilitate promotion of the products by our companies in the European markets," the Governor said at the end of the meeting. "I have kept my word. The Russian-German Foreign Trade Chamber is ready to become our lobbyist".
