Chairman of Rusnano Executive Board Anatoly Chubais announced plans to build 12 nanotechnology centers in Russia at the First Congress of Nanoindustry Enterprises in Moscow.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the first nanocenter will be opened before the end of 2012 in Kazan. In 2013, nine more centers will open in various regions of Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and other cities. According to Rusnano's concept, those centers will become growth points for small hi-tech firms.
"The purpose of those infrastructure centers will be to provide to small innovation businesses access to modern equipment at reasonable cost so that they could unfold their ideas into live business," Anatoly Chubais commented.
