The Region Administration discussed a draft consumer market development program of Tomsk Region 2020. The program embraces the key sectors of the consumer market such as trade, catering, services, hotels, cultural institutions.
The developers based their estimates and assumptions on global best practices and key performance indicators of the Trade Development Strategy of Russia 2020. In accordance with the plan, by 2020 Tomsk will have 13 hypermarkets, 60 supermarkets, 6 home improvement malls, 5 consumer electronics stores, and around 100-120 convenience stores. The share of modern shopping malls is expected to grow and market consolidation reach 70-80%.
The program will be presented at the Trade Forum in Omsk in October.
