Tomsk Region Governor on Presidential Commission

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of a Presidential Commission to monitor performance on the socio-economic development targets of Russia. The Commission includes Tomsk Region Governor Sergey Zhvachkin.

Vladimir Putin is the leader of the Commission. The members of the Commission are Russian Ministers, President's Assistants and Advisors, Cabinet officers, Federation Council and State Duma leaders, etc. Along with the Governor of Tomsk Region representatives of Russian regions on the Commission include the Governor of Kamchatka Krai, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mayor of Moscow and Governor of Moscow Region.

The Commission will monitor progress on key socio-economic indicators defined by the Russian President and work on methods and milestones to achieve the targets. It will also develop proposals for the President on the improvement of the national economic, social, and population policies and follow-up on measures to raise the salaries of the employees of state-funded institutions and new remuneration mechanisms based on the qualitative and quantitative performance which are implemented in particular regions of Russia. The Commission will also assess the effectiveness of actions to streamline the socio-economic development of Russia and develop improvement proposals.
