Tomsk Region enhances cooperation with Australia

Back from her working visit to Australia First Deputy Governor of Tomsk Region Oksana Kozlovskaya spoke about the prospects of cooperation with Australia at a press conference.

The Directors of Solagran Limited committed to building a plant manufacturing pine needle pharmaceuticals in Tomsk Special Economic Zone. The company intends to start construction in 2011 and launch the plant in 2013. The investment commitment is 50m US dollars including over 13m US dollars of government assistance to the SEZ resident.
Australian companies are interested in iron ore mining in Tomsk Region.

Tomsk Region finds particularly attractive Australian cooperation in higher education. Leading Australian universities, the Group of Eight, offered cooperation with Tomsk universities in creation of joint teams to work on similar priorities such as the projects Medicine of the Future, and Clean Water. Australians also expressed interest in enhancing the exchange of students and instructors.
