Third scientific slam was held in Tomsk
Winner of the scientific battle was Sergey Abrashitov, a physicist-theoretician who delivered a report on "Wound light, game computers for scientists or a storey about how Russians discovered everything in the XIX Century" where he told how to raise the speed of information transfer by unlimited number of times. Boxing gloves, a traditional Science Slam award - were handed by Elizaveta Sperkach, Miss Tomsk-2014 Sergey Abrashitov is a post-graduate student of Tomsk Polytechnic University; he delivers lectures in TPU and trains Tomsk schoolchildren to participate in the All-Russia Olympiad on physics.
«In order to understand what I am dealing with, you must be minimum a student-physicist of grade IV. But I was inspired by a statement assigned to Einstein: "If you cannot explain your theory to a child, you do not understand what you are talking about". Participation in Slam for me is a personal challenge and a chance to comprehend and present the essence of my work from a basically different standpoint", said the Winner.
A total of six young scientists took part in the Slam, including a participant from Tomsk State Architecture and Construction University who took part in the slam for the first time.
"The next Slam is planned to be held in spring 2015. All those who want to participate may follow our announcements on our pages in social networks. We specially invite humanitarians", informed Evgeniya Saiko, an organizer of Tomsk Science Slams.
