Personnel assistance to companies-residents
Performance of SEZ of Technical Innovation Type depends, first of all, on presence of highly professional personnel in the sphere of innovative economy which is prepared by educational institutions of higher and intermediate vocational training of Tomsk Oblast:
- 6 state universities;
- 2 state institutes (Military Medical Institute and Seversk State Technological Academy) and 2 non-state universities;
- 11 branches of out-of-town universities;
- more than 12 international educational centers;
- 23 establishments of intermediate vocational training, 4 of them are non-state, and 2 branches of out-of-town universities.
The quality of specialist training by Tomsk Scientific and Educational Complex is confirmed by the rating of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Based on the results of monitoring of Russian universities for the year 2006, four out of six largest universities of Tomsk Oblast are in the top ten leading Russian institutions of higher education in the fields: "university", "redbrick university", "medical university", "pedagogical university".
Within the limits of the signed cooperation agreement between Tomsk State University and Territorial Department of the Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones in Tomsk Oblast personnel training is being carried out for LLC "NIOST", the first resident of Technical Innovation SEZ, on the basis of the Interuniversity Personnel Training Center for Tomsk Technical Innovation Type SEZ. Territorial Department plans to conclude similar agreements in the current year with all the leading universities of Tomsk.
Nearly 86 thousand students (out of 1 million Oblast residents and more than 500 thousand Tomsk residents) study in all forms of education in universities of Tomsk Oblast, as well as in 11 branches and representations of out-of-town universities. Nearly 16 thousand specialists, including the fields of SEZ specialization, annually graduate from Tomsk universities.
